Kicking Off Sophomore Year

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, In : School
Today was my first day of tenth grade. I didn't eat breakfast; I spent the morning getting stuff ready and watching the news. I managed to grab the second seat in the bus, and although I was tired, I was too anxious to get some rest. When we arrived, we were to go to our advisement room. Prior to today, our advisement room was the only thing we knew about our schedule. We got our schedules ahead of time last year... Out of all the classes I had today, it took me the longest to find my advise...

Stripes Unleashed

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, In : School
There's a side to Stripes that I didn't delve into in last year's entry, mostly because I knew little of this nature. But now that I sit near her every other day in lunch, I've been exposed to her true character. And I'd say it's even worse than what I already knew about her.
First of all, she's unhealthily obsessed with anything gay. She's even worse than Emily, who was bad enough. She can make any conversation turn gay, and she's always talking about her favorite yaoi pairings. She's apparen...

Clash in the Cafeteria

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, January 6, 2012, In : School
It was a B day, and since Sam moved away, I had no choice but to sit in my emo corner. Unfortunately, someone's shoes were sitting in a grocery bag on the table I usually eat at. There were four little tables against that wall, so I decided to sit at the one next to it. Some kind of weird instinctual thing told me to sit on the side opposite of my usual table. I then got up to get my food. The featured entree was grilled cheese, which I guess was okay. Otherwise, I'd have to get a gross sub o...

This Test is History

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, In : School
Last week, we were given this reading assignment for homework in AP world. It was this packet about Harappa. That's it, a reading assignment? Wow, what an easy piece of homework! So I finished reading it the very first night it was assigned, and that was that. Well, until the next class, that was. All of the sudden, Mr. A gave us a pop quiz on the assignment. I, having breezed through it like three nights ago, barely remembered any of the content. There were seven questions on the quiz. ...

Art Smarts

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, October 8, 2011, In : School
Every year, I get stuck in a class with a bunch of morons. Last year it was math, and now it's art, unfortunately. You see, to graduate with even a basic diploma, you must get credit from at least one art or music class. It seems like almost all of the people in my class are doing just that-- they aren't very enthusiastic about art at all. They just want the credit, and then after that they'll never set foot in an art classroom again. Well, from how they've been acting, it looks like they mig...

Homecoming

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, September 30, 2011, In : School
Today was our homecoming day. Since nothing really notable happened during the rest of the week, I'm just going to cut to the chase. Basically, I only participated every other day like I did for Spirit Week last year, and our standings were never revealed at the end of the day so we were left in the dark. Today was Blue & White Day, and I wore the same outfit I wore for the last day of Spirit Week, minus the bracelets. Because we were having a pep rally at the end of the day, all the periods ...

A Sort of Interesting Day

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, In : School
When I woke up in the morning, I was exhausted. I usually wake up a bit after I get ready, but for some reason today I was still dead tired. I had a Bagel Full for breakfast. When I got on the bus, there were still seats available, so I didn't have to sit with Camille. I wouldn't have minded either way. Camille's in almost all of my classes, and I'd even go as far to say that we've become acquaintances. I rested up a bit on the bus, but that didn't help very much. I was still tired when we go...

I've Been Discovered

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, September 8, 2011, In : School
Well, sort of. It was my fault. Sam knows that I like Soul Eater now.
It was a D day, so I had lunch during the middle block of period three. It was another one of those days where I have lunch with Sam. I probably would've gone and sat in my emo corner again, but Sam spotted me by my locker when I was grabbing my lunch bag so I walked with her to the cafeteria. She led me to this little booth in the middle of the cafeteria, where her friends were seated. Contrary to what I thought, they weren...

And So It Begins

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, In : School
Today was my first day of high school, and man, it was boring.
I had trouble sleeping last night for some reason... but still, I woke up like an hour before the bus came. Even though I got practically no sleep, I wasn't very tired during the day... well, except for in advisement, because we just sat there and did nothing. I had this cinnamon flavored cereal, a few pieces of candy corn, and a couple sips of pomegranate flavored water for breakfast. When I got on the bus, there were no open seat...

Orientation

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, In : School
Dude, there's something weird going on with the Blog Archive... it says a bunch of months twice, and some months are missing...

Today was freshman orientation. We had to get up fairly early, because my mom also had a job interview around 8:00 AM. The orientation was at 10:00 AM. After my mom was done with her interview, we went to Tim Hortons. Mocha iced caps = liquid bliss... well, for the first five minutes. The flavor drains quickly, leaving you with an icy, vaguely coffee flavored mes...

Dear Courtney,

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, July 2, 2011, In : School
I don't understand why you feel the need to criticize my clothing. Yeah, I wear clothes with Pokemon on them. Is there something wrong with that? This is a free country. I should be able to freely express my fondness for the franchise, and I should be free to decide whether or not I want to wear uncomfortable Aeropostale clothing. After all, if it's so 'childish' and 'immature' to wear clothing with Pokemon characters on them, why would they even make them? Why would people buy them, leading ...

Eating More than Just Souls

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Sunday, June 19, 2011, In : School
I don't know if any of you have ever heard of the anime/manga "Soul Eater", but if you were at my school, you'd hear about it far more than you'd ever wish to. I don't know what it's about, or really anything about it at all (save for the characters, which the fans go on about nonstop) but every weeaboo and her brother seems to be obsessed with it. And unfortunately for me, most of my friends and the friends of my friends are weeaboos, so I have to hear them 24/7. I'm so glad the last day of ...

Easier Said than Done

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, May 12, 2011, In : School
I always feel self-conscious in the halls.
Especially when I'm the only kid in the hall going one way, and there's only one kid or a small group of kids going towards me. That's exactly the situation I was in today, and I guess I have a reason to feel that way.
There were three kids, two guys and a girl, making their way toward me. I shuffled off to the side of the hall, trying not to get in their way. When we approached each other, one of the guys leaned toward me and started making animal noi...

A Proud Accomplishment

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, May 12, 2011, In : School
There's a program in my school known as the 'Excelsior Society'. I'm not really sure what it does (it most likely just looks good on your resume) but to get into it, your overall averages for terms one and two combined had to equal ninety or above. Most students are inducted in seventh grade, but every year there are a few new eighth grade members.
Last year, I felt bitterly left out when I found I had not made the list. I was normally an A+ student, so it shouldn't have been too much of a pro...

Identifying the Real Problem

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, March 19, 2011, In : School
In technology class, we're working on building basic vehicles to compete in the game of 'Tic-Tech-Toe'. It's basically tic-tac-toe, but instead of doing it on paper, you have to make the vehicles move these pieces around in this arena thing. While we work on our vehicles, we have to log and record our progress in our 'engineering notebooks'. One of the things we must do is identify the problems we face while creating and designing our car. While my partner and I have already faced numerous pr...

First of all, I want to let you know that I tried to write this post yesterday, and I got halfway through it. But then, all of the sudden I got this pop-up that said that Sitebuilder needed to update. It wouldn't let me copy what I had written, and within several seconds, poof, everything was gone. Yeah. So. Just thought I'd let you know.

Summary of Yesterday

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Sunday, February 20, 2011, In : School
I'm bored, this blog is particularly lacking, and yesterday was a somewhat interesting day, so I'm going to blog about it and hope it amuses you.

Nothing particularly notable happened before school. It was an A-day, meaning I had Spanish first. Oh, joy... we were going to be doing a speaking assessment. We were originally going to be doing it two days ago, but Mrs. PM was out sick. We'd apparently had plenty of time to practice for it, but on one of those days I was out due to the flu, and the...

Brooke

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, In : School
I'm surprised I've never said anything about the abomination known as Brooke on here before. Unlike Stripes, another person I wrote about, Brooke is indeed this person's name. While Stripes may or may not have a mental disability and shouldn't be bashed on, Brooke is perfectly fine.
Brooke is pretty short and fit; she's very athletic. She has light brown hair often tied back, and freckles. I'm really not sure what color eyes she has, I've never bothered to look. Of course again, appearance has...

Marshmallow Warfare

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, January 28, 2011, In : School
I typed out this huge thing about the marshmallow war earlier, and for some reason it deleted itself. I got this pop-up that said 'Your session has expired'. And then it logged me out, and poof, my post was gone. :/ I tried to rewrite it, but this obviously won't be as good as the first version was.

About a week ago, Mr. Wiest presented us with an activity with yarn to represent the complex system of allies present during World War I. During that class period, he told us that probably next cla...

The Hole in Uranus

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, January 14, 2011, In : School
Today in science, we were studying planetary rotation and revolution; specifically, we were providing proof of the above happenings. Mr. D (not Dionysus =P) made Michelle hold a white Styrofoam ball on a stick, and said it was the sun. He called on this one dude to portray Earth, and revolve around the "sun". He made him walk around the classroom, and every so often, he would tell him to stop and look at the ceiling and tell the class what he saw; a model of an atom, a wasp nest, the Smartboa...

On a Roll

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, January 13, 2011, In : School
For lunch I brought a roast beef, spinach, Swiss cheese and horseradish baguette, a can of Sprite, and a Fruit by the Foot. At the cafeteria, they were serving chicken tenders and other crap. Whenever they serve chicken tenders, no matter what they give you this stupid little bread roll that tastes awful. These bread rolls are often thrown out... it's such a waste, I don't know why they force us to get them. They may taste nasty to us spoiled people, but I bet starving children would be delig...

Tales from the Black ELAgoon

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, January 13, 2011, In : School
Today, my ELA teacher wasn't here for whatever reason; the sub never specifically mentioned why, but I'm sure we'll be hearing quite a story next class on Friday. The sub explained that we were going to work in the library today-- I'm not exactly sure why, the thing we were doing did not involve anything in the library in any shape of form. We could've just worked in the classroom like we always do... The library is right down the hall from the enriched ELA room. We bunched into it, and sat d...

The Story of Stripes

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, January 8, 2011, In : School
I didn't like Spanish class to begin with. Mrs. PM isn't the nicest teacher on the planet, and I don't like most of the activities we have to participate in. Worse yet is where I sit; my desk is sandwiched between the desks of a popular girl who always slides her desk away from mine and complains about her seat on a daily basis, and her. Her, as in the girl who will remain anonymous but I will refer to as Stripes, since she's obsessed with tigers.
Stripes is a fairly short girl, brown hair, gl...

An Interesting Approach

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, January 6, 2011, In : School
We were studying foreign policies in social studies today. Mr. Wiest had us split into groups, and asked us, "What would you do if you wanted everyone to leave this room?" One kid shouted out, "What if we screamed fire? Or pulled the fire alarm?" Another kid suggested we run around the room with a bat like a madman. Just then, two students walked in carrying a bible and a pair of metal baseball bats. Mr. Wiest thanked the kids, and as a prank, asked these two girls to ask whoever had provided...

Hectic Homebase

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, January 6, 2011, In : School
Today was an A-day, which meant I had my FACS teacher, Mrs. C, for homebase. Or at least I was supposed to... You see, my homebase is a bit messed up. My regular homebase teacher, Mrs. L (the regular ed ELA teacher) teaches 'writer's workshop', which I believe is a program for people who have bad grades in ELA, on A-days, so I have to stay with the Mrs. C. On B-days, I have chorus, same with every other C-day. The only actual time I see my true homebase teacher is every other C-day when I don...

The Last Day Before Break

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, December 23, 2010, In : School
The day started off normally... I woke up, packed up my stuff, threw on my Pokewalker, ate breakfast, etc etc. I threw my reindeer antlers (that are supposed to light up, but don't) into my bookbag, not exactly certain if I'd wear them or not. And of course, I packed away my bag of presents for the annual gift exchange my friends and I had. I packed everyone a crappy present, and a small box of chocolates. The not-so-great presents included a broken plastic yellow necklace, a stack of energy ...

Um the Dolphin

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, December 17, 2010, In : School
After lunch, Sam and I were walking up these stairs together, when Sam suddenly squeals and ducks down. A second later, she stands back up, a small, blue plush dolphin in her hand. She was like, "I found a random dolphin!" and we started laughing out of randomness. I thought she threw it back onto the ground, but a few moments later, when we were continuing down the hall, she pulled it out and asked me if I liked dolphins. I said, "Uh..." but she handed it to me, and told me to keep it. She t...

Immaturity

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, In : School
I think it's ridiculous that the kids in the back of the bus think I'm immature for playing Pokemon, when they can't even speak a sentence without saying the f-word or mentioning a reproductive organ.
They sit in the back because the bus driver can't bother them there; I sit towards the back because the people up front scream if they see me. In the morning, I sleep (well, I don't really fall asleep; it's more like just resting my eyes) and they're relatively quiet, since they're probably all ...

The Littlest Things

I was in the lunch line, waiting to be served shrimp poppers (which I haven't eaten in forever; I was randomly in the mood for them today =P). Two kids in front of me was one of the guys who used to sit in the booth behind us; in fact, it was Evan, who could be considered their leader. I don't know if I specifically stated it anywhere, but these were the guys that mainly picked on me on the Friday before Halloween- I believe the quote I posted came out of their mouths. Anyway, I began to feel...

A Real Cast of Characters

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, December 2, 2010, In : School
The musical is not for me.
As I have already stated, the 8th grade auditions took place the previous Monday. When I got out of homebase, I headed over to the 'sports study-hall' in the cafeteria, where we were told to go if we had nowhere else to stay after. Being the sports study-hall, the majority of the kids there were athletes. They all gave me funny looks, and several asked me what sport I was trying out for. I could tell that they were thinking something along the lines of: Dear God, ple...

Night at the Wax Museum

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, November 19, 2010, In : School
I've decided to try out for this year's school musical, "Night at the Wax Museum". It's apparently a spoof of the movie "Night at the Museum", if that wasn't already obvious. Today was the informational meeting; we were given a packet covering the basics of the musical, and what to expect at the audition. I'm not sure if I'll make a part... around a hundred kids attended the meeting, and only about fifty will make it through. And if I do make it, chances are I won't get a good part... I know ...

Gloria for a Not-So Festive Day

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, November 18, 2010, In : School
In chorus, we're singing this song called "Gloria for a Festive Day". It's an okay song, but it's nearly impossible to sing without messing up or feeling self-conscious... you see, all of the people who sang solos in the spring last year get to sing a fourth part, a descant. I wasn't one of these people, and I could care less, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm surrounded by these descant peeps...
Here's pretty much how we're set up... excuse the sloppy drawing, I literally did it in thirty s...

Supersoaker

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, November 5, 2010, In : School
Yet another tale from social studies class...

Around the corner from Mr. Wiest's room is a math teacher from another team's room. I've heard this math teacher also enjoys joking around, though I don't remember how to spell his name. Today, Mr. Wiest was teaching, and then all of the sudden water blasts one of the windows. Everyone turned to see what was going on, and there at the window around the corner is that math teacher, holding a Supersoaker with a bunch of kids gathered around him. Then...

November 5th

There's been a rumor going around that on November 5th, death will occur at the high school... I'm not quite sure if it's going to be a bomb, a Columbine, or what, but apparently it's serious business, as I saw a story about how they were investigating it in the local news today... thankfully, I'm in the MIDDLE SCHOOL, not the HIGH SCHOOL. But if there is some kind of deal over there, my school will most likely go into lockdown for the entire day...
Now, we've been in lockdown before, back in...

Orienteering Overview

As if the Cody Simpson deal wasn't enough, on Wednesday my team set off for a field trip at some huge park. Now, I would normally be overjoyed about a field trip, but this was different. We had to go orienteering... which meant we'd have to run around with a crappy map in search of scattered objects for several hours. Joy.
No one had contacted me about who my partner and chaperon were, and what bus I'd be taking to the park. When it came time for the field trip, some lady told me which bus I'd...

On Tuesday, my school got a surprise visit from a singer known as Cody Simpson. I had absolutely no idea that he even existed, but then again, I'm not really into music and celebrities. He apparently is pretty well known, as most of the school seemed to notify his existence, and the other day I saw his face on the cover of some teen magazine. I wouldn't mind, if it weren't for the fact that he sounds just like Justin Bieber, except with an Australian accent...
During lunch, we had to sit throu...

In social studies, we're running our own candy business-- at first, we were intending on getting little chocolate bars and decorating them to look like iPods, thus we made our company name 'iCandy'. But when we were supposed to make our prototype, the iPod candy looked really dumb; however, another kid brought in a lolly pop decorated like a vampire. Everyone loved the idea, so we went with it. But our company couldn't be called 'iCandy' anymore... People began suggesting names, such as Vampi...

Mr. Wiest Plays Student Ping-Pong

Mr. Wiest is one of those teachers, who, like Mr. Kenyon, enjoys joking around and having fun during class. Yesterday, he decided to pull a practical joke on this girl:
So you see, the girl had to drop off a slip about how she had to go to an orthodontist appointment at the attendance office. As soon as she left the room, Mr. Wiest grabbed the phone, and called the person in the attendance office. He told them to tell the girl that she had to report to the library. Five seconds later, Mr. Wies...
