Worth Every Ounce of Effort

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, In : Pokémon
Being an avid shiny enthusiast, I was ecstatic to find that there was an item that increases the odds of encountering shiny Pokémon in Black 2 and White 2. I was also thrilled that there was a worthwhile reward in store for those who complete the National Pokédex instead of a lame diploma. I'm really glad I decided not to transfer all of my Pokémon from SoulSilver to White... it would've been a massive pain to trade everything over to Black 2. I had completed the National Pokédex in...

Kicking Off Sophomore Year

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, In : School
Today was my first day of tenth grade. I didn't eat breakfast; I spent the morning getting stuff ready and watching the news. I managed to grab the second seat in the bus, and although I was tired, I was too anxious to get some rest. When we arrived, we were to go to our advisement room. Prior to today, our advisement room was the only thing we knew about our schedule. We got our schedules ahead of time last year... Out of all the classes I had today, it took me the longest to find my advise...

The Last Month of Summer

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, In : Mind
Today is the last day of July, meaning I have one month before school starts (my first day of sophomore year is September 4th). I've decided to compile a list of the things I want/have/Rainy wants me to do before summer draws to a close.

- Get up to "Chrysalis" in Plasma's Folly.
- Finish writing bios for all of the PF characters.
- Finish making icons for all of the Pokemon in PF.
- Draw more pictures for my Unova Pokedex Project.
- Finish drawing my Black 2 team.
- Download Genesect in Black 2.

The (N)oroark Theory

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, June 29, 2012, In : Pokémon
Last December, I revealed that N was secretly a Zorua/Zoroark in Plasma's Folly. I originally intended for it to just be a twist in my story, but now I've come to believe that it might actually be canonical. There are numerous hints both for and against the theory, and I'd like to discuss some of them.
I've already talked about my reasoning for using it in PF, and most of the explanation could also apply to the games. His behavior is fairly odd, and could be attributed to the fact that he isn'...

Homerun

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, In : Life
A few days ago, my parents decided they'd be going to Toronto to attend the New York Mets vs. Toronto Blue Jays baseball game on Sunday. My mom asked if I wanted to go, and I said, "Sure, whatever." She then asked Jo, who said she didn't want to go. I volunteered to stay home and watch her, but Jo was apparently so appalled by that idea that she decided to go. We would be leaving Saturday night, and returning the next day when the game was over.
Jo went to a birthday party on Saturday afterno...

More Unfinished Drawings

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, In : Life
Here's another batch of drawings I never bothered to complete. I actually intend on finishing some of the more recent ones, but I'll probably never touch a lot of these again.

This picture is more than a year old, and quite frankly I'm not sure why I never finished it. As you can see, it's very close to being finished. I think what happened was that I accidentally screwed up the layers, which would've made it difficult to complete.

Hehehe, this is a particularly old sketch that was supposed to ...

Pride Problems

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, In : Mind
There's a lot of things I've had to think over for my upcoming post-Promised Day Pride fanfiction (which still needs a title). I haven't necessarily run into any problems like this in any of my Pokemon fics, so this is kind of new for me. It's a good thing I've been bringing a writing journal with me everywhere so I can jot down my thoughts. And since the Random Blog is in desperate need of some new entries, I'm going to transcribe a portion of the journal (nothing plot-related, of course!) h...

Administration Abomination

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, In : Forums
I miss the way the forums were between September 2009 and January 2010. I truly believe that was the Golden Age of the Warriors & Seekers Official Message Boards. The snail posting function had just been removed, much to the rejoice of the majority of the community. However, dozens of members disappeared during this transition due to the forums' new enforcement of the COPPA law. Previously, anyone could make any number of accounts without revealing identifying information such as one's email ...

The Crayon Dragon

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, March 3, 2012, In : Dreams
Sorry, Leafy. Dx If only I could control my dreams... then nothing like this would happen. T_T

I was playing some kind of video game, and I came across this huge dragon that looked like it was drawn with crayons. It looked depressed, and it asked me to end its life. I was given this giant eraser, and I was instructed to erase the lines that connected its head to its body. I began to erase some of the lines, but they instantly grew back. I was then told that there might be something else I coul...

This Entry is RPSH

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, March 2, 2012, In : Forums
If you've ever been to the Off Topic Discussions forum, chances are you've heard of a guy named Acebopata (alternately Halstar, The Rebirth of Acebopata, Holi Sepa, and The Elderly One). Out of all the people on the Warriors & Seekers Official Message Board, he probably annoys me the most.
He has created a term called 'RPSH', which is an acronym for 'Religious-Political-Scientific-Historical'. He uses it very frequently, and he's the only person who uses it. I'm sure half of the people on the ...

Monochrome Drama

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Sunday, February 26, 2012, In : Pokémon
Yesterday, the sequel... er, sequels to Pokemon Black Version and Pokemon White Version were announced. To everyone's surprise, the next game would not be titled Pokemon Gray Version; rather, two games would be released-- Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2.

The mascots are shown to be strange creatures that resemble a cross between Kyurem and Zekrom and Kyurem and Reshiram, respectively. They appear to be referencing the Unova myth that Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem were once one great dragon-...

Year of the Dragon

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, In : Life
The elusive Draik is one of the most sought after Neopets on the site. While three other draconic pets are offered on the site, the Draik stands out among the rest; the Skeith is a monster type thing that looks like an obese bulldog with dragon features, the Shoyru looks more like a Mew than anything else, and the Scorchio is a pudgy little dragon whose looks were completely destroyed when all the art was updated. The Draik is certainly the most draconic of the three, and arguably the best lo...

House of Horrors

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Sunday, February 5, 2012, In : Life
The other day, I decided to start playing Habitarium on Neopets; in the past, I always thought it was pointless and dull, but you can actually potentially rake in a huge sum of Neopoints from it; up to 100,000 Neopoints a day once you get to level 50. It requires little interaction; you can leave it open on another tab all day, and only check in on it every so often.
When I started playing, all of my bugs were dead; in the past I had created a Habitarium, but I got to level two and just ditche...

Stripes Unleashed

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, In : School
There's a side to Stripes that I didn't delve into in last year's entry, mostly because I knew little of this nature. But now that I sit near her every other day in lunch, I've been exposed to her true character. And I'd say it's even worse than what I already knew about her.
First of all, she's unhealthily obsessed with anything gay. She's even worse than Emily, who was bad enough. She can make any conversation turn gay, and she's always talking about her favorite yaoi pairings. She's apparen...

Clash in the Cafeteria

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, January 6, 2012, In : School
It was a B day, and since Sam moved away, I had no choice but to sit in my emo corner. Unfortunately, someone's shoes were sitting in a grocery bag on the table I usually eat at. There were four little tables against that wall, so I decided to sit at the one next to it. Some kind of weird instinctual thing told me to sit on the side opposite of my usual table. I then got up to get my food. The featured entree was grilled cheese, which I guess was okay. Otherwise, I'd have to get a gross sub o...

JANUARY
All of the blooming roleplays didn't last long after their inceptions, and instead our main roleplay throughout the month of January was Zodians, a rare, non-Pokemon roleplay for once. We found out the English names of all the Black and White Pokemon this month.
FEBRUARY
Everyone suddenly really got into Neopets this month, and thus our main roleplay at the time was The Reviving Darkness, a spin on the Darkest Faerie video game. I started uploading a series of TDF walkthroughs to Youtub...

The Secrets are Revealed

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, December 22, 2011, In : Forums
Upon the closing of Plasma's Folly, I promised to reveal all of the plot twists I currently have in my head. I'll also provide an explanation as to where they fit in with the plot, and why I chose to use them.

# 1 - Ghetsis is a Genesect Hybrid
This was probably the easiest twist to guess, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of you figured it out beforehand. It was frequently hinted at, the most obvious example of Ghetsis's desire to become a hybrid being found here:
Ghetsis silently crept up be...

I Took an Arrow in the Knee

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, In : Life
I've been hearing a lot about this video game called 'Skyrim' lately. From all the hype it was getting, I originally thought it was a Call of Duty game. I soon found out that it was part of a different franchise I rarely ever hear about called 'The Elder Scrolls'. I didn't know much about the aforementioned franchise, other than it was some kind of fantasy RPG. A few days ago I decided to look Skyrim up, and it actually sounded sort of interesting. When we were out shopping last Saturda...

A Shining Opportunity

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, In : Pokémon
I can't remember when I first heard of Random Number Generator (RNG) manipulation, but it was quite a while ago. I remember browsing around Bulbagarden, and seeing these people talking about how this RNG abuse was a much easier way to get legitimate shiny Pokemon than chaining or the Masuda Method, and it was so easy that it was decreasing the value of shiny Pokemon. Curious, I decided to look it up. I quickly found my way to Smogon's RNGing guide, and I scanned through the entire page....

Rather that going to Long Island for Thanksgiving, we went last weekend. We left last Thursday, and I got to skip school that day. I spent most of the car ride listening to music and working on the Plasma's Folly story. I can't remember what time we arrived at my aunt's house, but I know by then it was night and past dinner time. We went to bed soon after, because the next day we'd be visiting New York City.

My mom found out that one of our local news stations was doing a thirty minute special on bullying, and apparently they were looking for kids to share their stories of being bullied. She told me about it and asked me if I wanted to share my Touching Spirit Bear project (still need to blog about that cghfgdj) on it, and I said, 'Sure, why not.' I didn't really expect to be able to go on, and if I didn't I wouldn't care. But it turned out they did want me to come on. So on November 3rd, I...

Home Sweet Home

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, October 28, 2011, In : Life
Saying this is probably selfish, seeing as there are so many people in the world who don't have proper housing. But I really don't like my house. It's the smallest house in my neighborhood, and it's practically one step up from a trailer. I've only seen one other house with the same design as mine, and it has an extension in the back. We don't have a deck, or a porch. Just a set of stairs with rusting iron banisters leading up to the door. The paint on both the door and the garage is chipping...

Dream On

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, October 22, 2011, In : Dreams
This was a really crazy dream. It's a shame I can't remember most of it... It involved Soul Eater, Fullmetal Alchemist, Plasma's Folly, the Kirby anime, and real life stuff.
It was never explained why, but Ed became Envy's host, like how Greed fused with Ling. It showed him, Al, Hawkeye, and Mustang driving across this random desert in what I think was a convertible. All of the sudden, Ed started shouting, and everyone started asking him what was going on. Before he had a chance to respond, he...

This Test is History

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, In : School
Last week, we were given this reading assignment for homework in AP world. It was this packet about Harappa. That's it, a reading assignment? Wow, what an easy piece of homework! So I finished reading it the very first night it was assigned, and that was that. Well, until the next class, that was. All of the sudden, Mr. A gave us a pop quiz on the assignment. I, having breezed through it like three nights ago, barely remembered any of the content. There were seven questions on the quiz. ...

You Don't Mess With Envy

I was originally going to post the first dream in this entry with a bunch of other minor dreams. I had that entry halfway finished, and then I took a break to watch FMA on my computer. The DVD kept screwing up, so I asked my mom to help fix it, and she ended up closing down Firefox. So now I'll be rewriting it, and I'm also adding a dream I had last night that could be considered a follow-up to it.

I was supposed to be at this pool inside a school, and all the homunculi from FMA were there wit...

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, October 8, 2011, In : Website
We knew this day would come since early August. And we've been dreading it ever since. But now it's finally come, and it's passed. Meebo, which we've been using since the dawn of our friendships in 2009, has been discontinued. We've found a new instant messaging program that works perfectly fine, but it's just not the same as that Sakimi we knew and loved. That chatroom was like a virtual home to me, and now it's been demolished. I'll miss hearing the little click whenever someone posts, and ...

Art Smarts

Every year, I get stuck in a class with a bunch of morons. Last year it was math, and now it's art, unfortunately. You see, to graduate with even a basic diploma, you must get credit from at least one art or music class. It seems like almost all of the people in my class are doing just that-- they aren't very enthusiastic about art at all. They just want the credit, and then after that they'll never set foot in an art classroom again. Well, from how they've been acting, it looks like they mig...

Something I Dreaded from the Start

Last night I finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. And now I'm... depressed. That show was amazing, and I'm so glad I decided to start watching it... I'm also glad that I kept watching it, even though I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I'm pretty sure that almost everyone I suggested FMA to gave up on it early on, and that's what I almost did... but it's so worth it to keep watching. Or, at least to me it was. Today was our homecoming day. Since nothing really notable happened during the rest of the week, I'm just going to cut to the chase. Today was Blue & White Day, and I wore the same outfit I wore for the last day of Spirit Week, minus the bracelets. Because we were having a pep rally at the end of the day, all the periods ...

Yesterday, we went to the mall to see The Lion King in 3D. I could care less about that movie, I've seen it a hundred times when I was five. What I really wanted to go to the mall for was so I could check out F.Y.E, a video and music store that also sold a large variety of anime.
Earlier that day, my mom took me to the library the next town over to see if the had volumes four and five of Brotherhood. I made my way over to the anime/manga shelf, which was tucked away in the teen section. I bro...

I've watched Soul Eater all the way through three times, and certain episodes I've seen more than that. As much as I love Soul Eater, it was beginning to grow old watching it over and over again... I needed to find something else to watch. You know, I've wondered why people who like anime never seem to just like one... I guess it's because they like cartoons, and they want to watch something geared toward older audiences that isn't stupid and immature like South Park or Family Guy or whatever...

This isn't the first time this has happened. In fact, I went through the same thing right around the time the forums first popped up. I feel as if I'm losing interest in Pokemon.
The Black and White hype has subsided, and it's a slow time for Pokemon. I've beaten White, and I only have the Elite Four left in Black. I don't really intend on picking up Black anytime soon, though. I don't even know how many times I've fought the Elite Four in White and Japanese Black, and I'm just tired of it. I...

A common device used in fiction is creating characters that the audience can relate with. Establishing a connection with a character helps you understand them, or by stretch the story, better. I'd like to delve into my relation with a character my mom suggested-- Crona from Soul Eater. Initially I took what she said as a joke, but now that I think of it a number of the aspects of Crona's character are similar to mine. When I got on the bus, there were still seats available, so I didn't have to sit with Camille. I wouldn't have minded either way.
