So, last night, I was browsing through the GTS in search of a Medicham, one of the 24 Pokemon I was missing from my National Dex. I figured that I wouldn't find anything decent: most of the people on the GTS are total n00bs, asking for Lv. 100 Darkrai and Deoxys and crap. I did manage to find a nice Japanese Drapion recently-- the person wanted any Porygon2. I had some random Porygon2 from that Emerald game rotting in my PC, so I said, why not? I got the Drapion, which looked to be legit, and bred him for a Skorupi, and bam-- two more Pokemon down in my quest to complete the National Dex. Anyway... as I expected, all of the people who were offering Medicham wanted ridiculous Pokemon: I recall one wanting a Lv. 100 Milotic, and another wanting any Deoxys. Well, there was one Medicham person that didn't want something crazy... and there was something special about their Medicham...

All they wanted was a Lv. 1-9 Porygon-Z. Now, common sense would tell me that this was an obvious scam-- but I went for it instantly. I quickly grabbed Seizure, my Lv. 1 Porygon that I randomly had in my PC, and evolved it twice. I rushed back to the GTS, and to my relief, the Medicham I had my eyes on was still there. I traded my Porygon-Z, and the blue Medicham was mine! I was certain it was a hack, and I checked its info just for the heck of it.

It was Lv. 37, and was caught at Lv. 14 on Route 211 with a Quick Ball. I checked Bulbapedia, and it said Meditite could indeed be caught at that level at that place. Its moves were Calm Mind, Detect, Hi Jump Kick, and Meditate-- nothing out of the ordinary. It had a Sinnoh Champ Ribbon, but that's perfectly normal; I've used the Elite Four to train my Pokemon numerous times. Now, when it comes to stats, I'm a total n00b, so I just skipped over them. They were probably accurate, too. I was shocked to find that this Medicham looked very much legit: but I still checked on that "Is My Pokemon Hacked?" thread on the Bulbagarden forums.

I felt a bit worried: I checked my legit looking Mew and Deoxys there, and they were deemed as hacks. JOESTER or whatever his name was had apparently used a Gameshark to hack the items needed to obtain them. I admit that I did something similar with that Darkrai once, but only because I had missed the event. So Mew and Deoxys were still cool with me.

But Venom, the guy who deemed Mew and Deoxys hacked last time, said: "well the area it was caught is right and so is the level it was caught at but I need more information. like it's current level, nature and any ev's it has, but for now it looks ok."

EVs? I'm a n00b when it comes to IVs and EVs and all that stuff. I told him that, but I did give him the level I got it at. He hasn't responded yet, so I can only hope for the best.
