So apparently, Meebo is discontinuing its rooms come October 4th. That applies to Sakimi, as well as all the other chatrooms placed in any of My or Feather's Yola sites. On that fateful day, anyone who tries to access Sakimi will most likely be met with a blank, white square. I can't believe they're doing that... but more importantly, we kinda need a new chat place if we want to stick together. The forums just won't cut it-- they're way too slow. But I think I found a decent replacement-- a Shoutbox, I think it's called. It only moves a little slower than Sakimi, which isn't too bad considering our other options. You can't tell who's online, and there's no private messaging. BUT, there are quite a few redeeming features: You can have avatars, which is pretty freaking sweet. Also, only registered members can access the chat, which will help to keep out trolls and other unwanted visitors, hence the page's slogan.
So, why not check it out? We're not making the switch right away; we're probably going to hang out on the old Sakimi till October. But if you want to look around and maybe register a bit early, feel free to. The link is below:

Be warned that if you're not a Sakimi regular or we don't give you permission, your membership will be denied. Also, I need to work on setting up the site, so as for now it's pretty messy. But I'll get things all fixed up soon.
