This Thanksgiving, I have to go to my aunt's house in Long Island. I absolutely hate spending holidays away from home; one Easter, we went to the same aunt's house, and it was dreadful. I was dragged into a church, and overall it didn't feel like Easter as I knew it. I'm afraid it will be the same this Thanksgiving, aside from the church part. Worst of all... well, not to be rude, but my aunt definitely isn't the best cook out there.
In our original plans, we'd be visiting some King Tut exhibit at a museum sometime on our stay. I never even said I wanted to go, but my mom seemed to think it was really important to me... she bought me some novel relating to King Tut's murder, and I was like, 'uh... okay?' But apparently now we're not going because of some cost issue. I don't really care, but it might've been interesting...
My mom has been talking about how she wants to take us to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade for years, and now seemed like the perfect time to go; alongside the annual Pikachu balloon, Reshiram and Zekrom will also be making an appearance. I'm not exactly sure how they'll come along- my mom said they'd probably be dudes in suits, but I think I heard somewhere they were life-size replicas of them... I don't think there's any people fourteen feet tall. When Jo and I brought this up to our mom, she seemed into the idea... she started looking up where the best seats were and when the best time to go was and whatnot. But then when my dad came home, the answer became a definite no. Well, there goes that last little gleam of light that might make the trip a tiny bit better...
I believe we're leaving around noon tomorrow. I'm obviously not looking forward to this at all...
