It was just any other day. I got Jo off the bus, we talked for a bit, and then we went our separate ways. Jo was playing Neopets: The Darkest Faerie in the living room, and I locked myself away in my room and surfed the web. I let Ahnyo into my room, and he flopped right down on my bed. A while later, he got up and started scratching at the door; he wanted out. With a sigh, I got up from my chair and opened the door for him. I figured I might as well check on Jo while I was at it, so I followed him out. At first, she was sitting in one of the recliners, but when she saw me she got up. The game was glitching, so this Spyder kept falling from the sky and hissing. I didn't take notice of this till later, but the noise set Ahnyo off. He scrambled into the living room and started violently attacking Jo. She was screaming and desperately trying to escape, and I was standing in the hallway, immobilized by fear. Ahnyo tackled her, knocking her over under his impressive weight. He slashed at her with his claws, hissing and snarling. When Jo finally managed to escape, she threw herself in the bathroom and locked the door. Ahnyo stood by the door, his ears flattened and his tail flapping. I kicked him out of anger, and he just gave me a blank look and walked away. Everything just happened so fast, and my head was buzzing with fear, concern, and anger. Jo was wailing her head off, and I got her to open the door. I decided to inspect her injuries. She turned towards me, and crimson blood was dripping down her face. "OH MY GOD!" I yelled, my heart racing. I closed the door, and started panicking. I paced around the house, breathing hard and cussing. I turned off the TV, because the hissing noises were getting on my nerves. I then stumbled into my room and rummaged through the papers on my desk for the slip of paper my mom had written her cellphone number on. When I found it, I hurried into the kitchen and picked up the phone, my hand trembling. I uneasily typed in the numbers, and hit the call button. My mom didn't pick up. Frantically, I tried calling again. Nothing. I screamed and tried once more. Again, she didn't pick up. I resumed pacing, and then went up to the bathroom door, where Jo was still screaming and crying. I asked her if she wanted ice, or if she wanted me to do anything for her, but she refused my help and wouldn't let me in. She insisted that I get our mom, but obviously there was nothing I could do. Several minutes later, my mom pulled up in the driveway. I rushed outside and informed her that Ahnyo had attacked Jo for no reason and she was bleeding all over. We both ran inside, and my mom tended to Jo's wounds. Ahnyo had sliced her scalp, as well as her belly and feet. My mom had us both explain what happened, and it seemed as if there was no explanation for Ahnyo's attack. Jo eventually suggested the hissing from the video game, and I turned on the TV to show my mom what it sounded like. She decided that Ahnyo probably thought that Jo was hurting Mack, and the hissing noises were coming from him. But the attack was still completely uncalled for. My mom said that if anything like that ever happened again, we would probably have to put Ahnyo down. As much as she loved him, she couldn't possibly keep him if he was a threat to us.
The experience was really scary, and the whole time I felt helpless. I can't imagine how Jo felt... I really hope we don't have to go through anything like that again.
