Tales from the Black ELAgoon

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, January 13, 2011, In : School
Today, my ELA teacher wasn't here for whatever reason; the sub never specifically mentioned why, but I'm sure we'll be hearing quite a story next class on Friday. The sub explained that we were going to work in the library today-- I'm not exactly sure why, the thing we were doing did not involve anything in the library in any shape of form. We could've just worked in the classroom like we always do... The library is right down the hall from the enriched ELA room. We bunched into it, and sat d...

An Interesting Approach

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, January 6, 2011, In : School
We were studying foreign policies in social studies today. Mr. Wiest had us split into groups, and asked us, "What would you do if you wanted everyone to leave this room?" One kid shouted out, "What if we screamed fire? Or pulled the fire alarm?" Another kid suggested we run around the room with a bat like a madman. Just then, two students walked in carrying a bible and a pair of metal baseball bats. Mr. Wiest thanked the kids, and as a prank, asked these two girls to ask whoever had provided...

Hectic Homebase

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, January 6, 2011, In : School
Today was an A-day, which meant I had my FACS teacher, Mrs. C, for homebase. Or at least I was supposed to... You see, my homebase is a bit messed up. My regular homebase teacher, Mrs. L (the regular ed ELA teacher) teaches 'writer's workshop', which I believe is a program for people who have bad grades in ELA, on A-days, so I have to stay with the Mrs. C. On B-days, I have chorus, same with every other C-day. The only actual time I see my true homebase teacher is every other C-day when I don...

The Last Day Before Break

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, December 23, 2010, In : School
The day started off normally... I woke up, packed up my stuff, threw on my Pokewalker, ate breakfast, etc etc. I threw my reindeer antlers (that are supposed to light up, but don't) into my bookbag, not exactly certain if I'd wear them or not. And of course, I packed away my bag of presents for the annual gift exchange my friends and I had. I packed everyone a crappy present, and a small box of chocolates. The not-so-great presents included a broken plastic yellow necklace, a stack of energy ...

Um the Dolphin

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, December 17, 2010, In : School
After lunch, Sam and I were walking up these stairs together, when Sam suddenly squeals and ducks down. A second later, she stands back up, a small, blue plush dolphin in her hand. She was like, "I found a random dolphin!" and we started laughing out of randomness. I thought she threw it back onto the ground, but a few moments later, when we were continuing down the hall, she pulled it out and asked me if I liked dolphins. I said, "Uh..." but she handed it to me, and told me to keep it. She t...

Immaturity

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, In : School
I think it's ridiculous that the kids in the back of the bus think I'm immature for playing Pokemon, when they can't even speak a sentence without saying the f-word or mentioning a reproductive organ.
They sit in the back because the bus driver can't bother them there; I sit towards the back because the people up front scream if they see me. In the morning, I sleep (well, I don't really fall asleep; it's more like just resting my eyes) and they're relatively quiet, since they're probably all ...

The Littlest Things

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, December 4, 2010, In : School
I was in the lunch line, waiting to be served shrimp poppers (which I haven't eaten in forever; I was randomly in the mood for them today =P). Two kids in front of me was one of the guys who used to sit in the booth behind us; in fact, it was Evan, who could be considered their leader. I don't know if I specifically stated it anywhere, but these were the guys that mainly picked on me on the Friday before Halloween- I believe the quote I posted came out of their mouths. Anyway, I began to feel...

A Real Cast of Characters

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, December 2, 2010, In : School
The musical is not for me.
As I have already stated, the 8th grade auditions took place the previous Monday. When I got out of homebase, I headed over to the 'sports study-hall' in the cafeteria, where we were told to go if we had nowhere else to stay after. Being the sports study-hall, the majority of the kids there were athletes. They all gave me funny looks, and several asked me what sport I was trying out for. I could tell that they were thinking something along the lines of: Dear God, ple...

Night at the Wax Museum

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, November 19, 2010, In : School
I've decided to try out for this year's school musical, "Night at the Wax Museum". It's apparently a spoof of the movie "Night at the Museum", if that wasn't already obvious. Today was the informational meeting; we were given a packet covering the basics of the musical, and what to expect at the audition. I'm not sure if I'll make a part... around a hundred kids attended the meeting, and only about fifty will make it through. And if I do make it, chances are I won't get a good part... I know ...

Gloria for a Not-So Festive Day

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Thursday, November 18, 2010, In : School
In chorus, we're singing this song called "Gloria for a Festive Day". It's an okay song, but it's nearly impossible to sing without messing up or feeling self-conscious... you see, all of the people who sang solos in the spring last year get to sing a fourth part, a descant. I wasn't one of these people, and I could care less, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm surrounded by these descant peeps...
Here's pretty much how we're set up... excuse the sloppy drawing, I literally did it in thirty s...

Supersoaker

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, November 5, 2010, In : School
Yet another tale from social studies class...

Around the corner from Mr. Wiest's room is a math teacher from another team's room. I've heard this math teacher also enjoys joking around, though I don't remember how to spell his name. Today, Mr. Wiest was teaching, and then all of the sudden water blasts one of the windows. Everyone turned to see what was going on, and there at the window around the corner is that math teacher, holding a Supersoaker with a bunch of kids gathered around him. Then...

-Sigh-

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Friday, October 29, 2010, In : Life
"Kim doesn't need to wear a costume for Halloween!"
"No, she needs a mask to hide that ugly ass face."

I was picked on so many times today... The above is just an example of what I had to deal with... I thought today would be fun- I mean, it's the last school day before Halloween.. I started listing everything people would say about me... I didn't even know who the heck these people were. It always seems to be random people every time... like a few days ago, some boy I don't believe I've e...

Orienteering Overview

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, October 23, 2010, In : School
As if the Cody Simpson deal wasn't enough, on Wednesday my team set off for a field trip at some huge park. Now, I would normally be overjoyed about a field trip, but this was different. We had to go orienteering... which meant we'd have to run around with a crappy map in search of scattered objects for several hours. Joy.
No one had contacted me about who my partner and chaperon were, and what bus I'd be taking to the park. When it came time for the field trip, some lady told me which bus I'd...

The Bieber from Down Under

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Saturday, October 23, 2010, In : School
On Tuesday, my school got a surprise visit from a singer known as Cody Simpson. I had absolutely no idea that he even existed, but then again, I'm not really into music and celebrities. He apparently is pretty well known, as most of the school seemed to notify his existence, and the other day I saw his face on the cover of some teen magazine. I wouldn't mind, if it weren't for the fact that he sounds just like Justin Bieber, except with an Australian accent...
During lunch, we had to sit throu...

iSuck

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, In : School
In social studies, we're running our own candy business-- at first, we were intending on getting little chocolate bars and decorating them to look like iPods, thus we made our company name 'iCandy'. But when we were supposed to make our prototype, the iPod candy looked really dumb; however, another kid brought in a lolly pop decorated like a vampire. Everyone loved the idea, so we went with it. But our company couldn't be called 'iCandy' anymore... People began suggesting names, such as Vampi...

Mr. Wiest Plays Student Ping-Pong

Posted by The Muffin Lucario on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, In : School
Mr. Wiest is one of those teachers, who, like Mr. Kenyon, enjoys joking around and having fun during class. Yesterday, he decided to pull a practical joke on this girl:
So you see, the girl had to drop off a slip about how she had to go to an orthodontist appointment at the attendance office. As soon as she left the room, Mr. Wiest grabbed the phone, and called the person in the attendance office. He told them to tell the girl that she had to report to the library. Five seconds later, Mr. Wies...
